In Substate Championship Boys Basketball on Saturday, it was Grundy Center punching their third straight trip to the Boys State Basketball Tournament for the first time in school history.
They beat Beckman Catholic 56-44.
Grundy Center never trailed as Judge Jurofsky had 24 points.
Also in the McLeod Center Saturday night, it was AP winning a double overtime thriller against Cascade 7568.
But the season came to an end for the East Marshall Boys basketball team as they fell to sixth-rated Bellevue and Solon 66-55.
East Marshall was down by just two at halftime, down nine after three.
They got down by twelve before chopping it to five late, but the comets hit enough free throws to get the win.
East Marshall finishes at 18 and 7.
Grundy Center and AP move on to the Boys State basketball tournament.
Grundy Center will play at Trainer at 1215 on March 11th.
Albin and Parkersburg will take on Regina Catholic at around 345 on the eleventh.
In Junior College men's basketball with Southeastern, rounding MCC 6933.
The Tigers finish the regular season at 8-22, and they'll now open tournament play at Southeastern on Wednesday night.
Ellsworth slipped by Northeast 83-82.
The Panthers survived a move on to Tuesday's Region 11 B-final at Iowa Central.
Iowa Central swept Ellsworth during the regular season, 91-83 and 83-74.
